Candy Martinez
I grew up in Southern California, moved around with the Air Force and spent 13 years in Texas. Now I'm back in Northern California. I have a BA in Ancient Near East, an MA in British history and a BS in Geology. I worked with horses for several years. I've written poetry forever, and have been published. I've written scholarly papers and fiction. My areas of interest are: the Ancient Near East, medieval and Renaissance history, British history, volcanoes, horses and naval history. I've also studied costume history and culinary history. I live with four cats, a Doberman and my husband, and try to visit at least one volcano a year.
Dawn Martinez-Byrne
Dawn Martinez-Byrne grew up in a haunted house. Not your classic Victorian, but a big streamlined-moderne built by a survivalist with a love for secret passages and all things concrete. She holds advanced degrees in Literary Criticism and Art History and taught at the University of California. She raises Tennessee Walkers and Standard Poodles, loves swimming and all things Louis XIV. A master costumer, she's created everything from Victorian Dinosaurs to feathered gowns. She's won awards for her writing, shepherding other authors to publication. Currently she lives in the Mojave desert with her patient husband, one insane cat, and three Standard Poodles.
